ABOUT US

We are Grant and Kim Gee from Virden. We have been in PMU since 1975. Our farm is a second generation farm which Grant's dad ran before him. It has been in the family for over 70 years. Grant bought the farm from his dad in 1981 and took over the PMU operation at that time.

Grant and Kim were married in 1993 and now run the operation together, along with their children. Kim also comes from a second generation farm family.

Roselea Belgians consists of 750 acres, a barn with 81 standing stalls and 7 box stalls, a show barn with 6 box stalls and washing facilities, tack area and lots of corrals. We own 100 registered Belgians and a small band of Appaloosa mares.

All our family members are active in the running of the ranch. Everyone has a role to play, whether it is helping in the barn, house or community. Along with running the ranch, the family has been involved in many horse associations.

Grant has served on the Naeric board of directors and also belongs to the Manitoba Percheron/Belgian Association and is the Manitoba director for the Canadian Belgian Association. Kim and Grant both belong to their hometown Ag Society and Kim is the assistant head leader and also a group leader in our 4H club.

We have three children. Kelsey, 14, is the oldest and became involved with horses as soon as she was born. She has been in 4-H for the last 6 years. She belongs to the Virden Riding Club, Man Sack Association and MBRA 3Ds. Kelsey is also doing the High School Rodeo this year. She has been on the Provincial 4-H Team and has shown GO CHICO GO, which was born on my brother's PMU ranch and has won many awards. Last year she won the honour of being Virden Rodeo Princess, for which she received a saddle and other gifts. Kelsey is now also showing an Appaloosa gelding from her Grandpa's PMU ranch. He's a GRAND TITIAN, which is a Naeric horse and as a yearling he won High Point Halter overall. She is now breaking him in for the 2004 show season. Kelsey also loves basketball and skating.

Nicolas is 10 and has loved horses since he was born. He owns 8 horses and enjoys helping his dad with the heavys at the fairs. He is raising miniatures and loves to drive them in fairs and parades. He breeds his mares and every year he hopes for fillies so he will be able to increase his herd. Nicolas also enjoys 4-H and hockey.

Kacee is 7 and is also a horse lover. She has shown since she was old enough to seat without falling off, for lead line and costume. She shows a mare that we got from her Grandpa's PMU line. She has been doing this for the past few years and has been doing very well. Kacee received a new mare this year when Mom purchased a small band of mares from her father. Kacee is looking forward to showing her Naeric horse this summer and helping her dad show heavy horses too. She also enjoys dance and skating and Pee Wee 4-H.

We have one of the highest selling colts at the 50/50 in Regina every year. We raised a gelding called SMOKEY which was the Champion Gelding at the Toronto Royal and have had a few other geldings that have made it to the top hitches in North America.

All our horses have a record when they get vaccinated annually for sleeping sickness, tetanus and West Nile. Our horses are dewormed twice a year and have regular farrier work done.

Our colts are our future. We use colts for replacements for our PMU line and future breeding stock program. Foals are all registered and enrolled in the multi-million dollar Naeric Incentive Program and some are also in the Draft Horse Classic at the Canadian Western Agribition.

Our breeding program has been selected from quality breeding stock over the last 20 years.
